Market Volatility and the Impact on US Private Equity

March 27, 2024 - Virtual Event

CFA Society East Tennessee was pleased to welcome Christopher Godfrey, President of CEPRES Corp, for our event, "Market Volatility and the Impact on US Private Equity."

In today’s market nothing is certain apart from uncertainty. Global inflation threats, rising interest rates, geopolitical upheaval, ESG concerns, and more are why investors need to be able to rely on accurate, high-quality data to make the best investment decision.

For private markets, the added challenges of intransparency and a 3-6 month reporting lag can exacerbate these issues. But what if there was a better way to get market insights into historical and future performance in the private markets?

CEPRES’ Market Volatility and the Impact on US Private Equity report provides private market investors with improved ways to measure Private Markets performance today, by evaluating the impact on US Private Equity through comparison of the market cycles encompassing the GFC vs COVID. Investors can learn how access to comprehensive private markets data will help them make better decisions in their own portfolios.

From Passive to Proactive: The Rise of Active ETFs

January 30, 2024 - Virtual Event

CFA Society East Tennessee was pleased to welcome Yuri Khodjamirian, CFA, CIO of Tema., for our event, From Passive to Proactive: The Rise of Active ETFs.

The ETF industry has been one of the biggest growth drivers within asset management, dominated by low-cost passive ETFs. Active ETFs are a relatively new phenomena but are growing rapidly, capturing over 20% of all 2023 ETF flows. Investors are attracted by transparency, tax efficiency and single unitary fees when compared to mutual funds, leading to adoption across the spectrum including by institutions. The winners in active ETFs will likely be different to those in the passive ETF era.

Join Tema, the first institutionally focused independent active ETF asset manager, to explore the rise of active ETFs, some of their unique features, and the importance of risk management as the next chapter of ETF growth unfolds.
