Members of the CFA Society Greece attending the Business Valuation Masterclass Workshop of Prof. Aswath Damodaran in Athens! It was a great opportunity for our members to learn from the “global valuation guru” at this in person event in Athens!

2024-2025 Research Challenge Local Final Event
After almost four months of study and analysis of the company “Motodynamics”, the six teams that participated in the Greek leg of the global competition CFA Institute Research Challenge, organized by CFA Society Greece, prepared their analysis and investment proposal for the company’s share. All teams submitted their written analysis reports, which were graded by volunteer graders of the CFA Society Greece and, on February 22, they presented their reports and responded professionally to the questions of the evaluation committee, which was also composed of volunteers CFA charterholders.
The team of the University of Macedonia, Department of Accounting and Finance was declared the winning team of the competition and represented Greece in the Europe-Middle East-Africa (EMEA) region competition, with the ultimate goal of a place in the global final. They had the opportunity to open the Stock Exchange meeting on Thursday, March 6, 2025, by Ringing the Bell!

New Year cake 2025 - Annual Pita Cutting Event
Our Annual Pita Cutting Event of CFA Society Greece was on 12 February 2025 at a very nice place and in a very warm ambience.
Our President, Violeta Spyropoulou, CFA cut the New Year's cake and expressed her wishes for happiness and prosperity to all our members that joined us!

17th Annual Forecast Dinner
Our annual signature event, under the main theme " Charting Investment Opportunities in a Volatile, AI-Driven Market " took place on 27 January 2025 at the InterContinental Hotel, to a sold-out crowd of 130 investment professionals from the Greek and international investment community. For one more year our Annual Forecast Dinner was another successful event featuring esteemed speakers and attracting record participation and sponsorship!
Our keynote speaker was Daniel Morris CFA from BNP Paribas Asset Management who delivered an engaging presentation on his outlook for the global markets.
The dinner also featured a panel discussion " AI in finance: Navigating Opportunities and Digital Transformation " moderated by CFA Society Greece's President, Violeta Spyropoulou, CFA with panelists Jason Vaillancourt, CFA, Institutional Portfolio Manager, Franklin Equity Group, Franklin Advisers, Inc., Aristeidis Samitas Vice-Rector of Finance and Development at National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Yannis Krasonikolakis PhD, Head of Applied Intelligence and Predictive Analysis, Technology, Grant Thornton Greece.
The Best Forecaster, Volunteer of the Year, Instructor and Research Awards were also presented to the distinguished recipients during the dinner.

21st Charter Award Ceremony
CFA Society Greece's 21st Charter Award Ceremony took place on Monday, 2 December 2024 with 18 of our 24 new Charterholders in attendance.
We are excited to welcome the newest CFA Charterholders into our vibrant community, recognizing their dedication to mastering the challenging program and achieving this globally recognized designation. Our sincere thanks to our guest speakers Elina Litsa, CFA, Dimitrios Karydas, CFA and to our president Violeta Spyropoulou, CFA for her warm welcome and wishes to our new colleagues.

Research Challenge Competition 2025 Kick Off
On Monday 11th of November 2024, the official Kick off the Research Challenge Competition 2025 took place at the Athens Stock Exchange premises. It was accompanied by the company presentation.
The students from the 7 universities that participate have already started preparing their reports and presentations for the subject company, Motodynamics Group.
2nd Private Wealth Management Conference
CFA Society Greece hosted the 2nd Private Wealth Management Conference on 6 June, 2024 at the King George Hotel, with notable speakers from the local and international investment industry.
The conference featured a headlining keynote speech from Vassiliki Lazarakou, Chair of the Hellenic Capital Market Commission, a fireside chat with Theofanis Mylonas, General Manager, Wealth Management at Eurobank SA, and Violeta Spyropoulou, CFA, President of CFA Society Greece, a keynote presentation from Dr. Apostolos Kritikopoulos, Group CTO at Profile Software and three panel discussions.
The first panel discussion, Market Outlook, which was moderated by Dimitris Gkiokas, CFA, Finance Manager at Athenian Sea Carriers, and featured panelists George Juscsak, Executive Director and Senior Sales Executive at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Dr. Nikos Magginas, Chief Economist at NBG, Prof. Dr. Bernd Meyer, Chief Investment Strategist & Head of Multi Asset at Berenberg Wealth and Asset Management, and Panos Remoundos, Director, Head of Investments - Advisory and Products at Alpha Bank, covered the market outlook and trends over the short- and medium-term and how they impact decision makers in the private wealth management industry.
In the second panel discussion, Opportunities and Challenges in the Wealth Management Industry, moderator Alexia Drakopoulou, CFA, Portfolio Manager at WFS, lead the panelists Sara Eojourian, Head of Wealth Management and Executive Director at Athlos Capital, Lambros Katsonis, Sales Director, Wealth Management at Euroxx Securities and George Papangelis, CFA, Executive Director, Senior Investment Advisor at UBS Global Wealth Management, in a discussion on pressing issues in the wealth industry, the industry's evolution over the last decade and expectations for the future.
In final panel discussion, Managing Alternative Investments and Illiquid Assets, moderator Petros Kalligas, CFA, Senior Analyst at Orymil SA (family office) and panelists Konstantinos Peppas, Chief Investment Officer for the Group at ASOFIN (Onassis Group), Afroditi Sylla, Founder of Arkas Analytics (multi-family office) and Annita Theodorakopoulou, Investment Director, Greece at Latsco Family Office, discussed the unique prospects, risk and return profiles and risk-management strategies of alternative investments, from a family office perspective.
