In December 2024, the Luxembourg legislator introduced a bill aimed at implementing the AI Act. In May 2025, the government presented its national strategy on artificial intelligence. The AI regulation aims to promote the development and use of responsible artificial intelligence. The national strategy pursues several objectives: boosting the economy, improving citizens’ quality of life, strengthening the country’s digital and technological sovereignty, while also contributing to that of the European Union.
The Commission Nationale pour la Protection des Données (CNPD) will play a central role in the regulation of artificial intelligence. In this context, we are pleased to host Alain Herrmann, Commissaire at CNPD , who will address the following:
· AI Act implementation in Luxembourg (bill 8476), including national and EU regulatory evolution and the role of the CNPD and other authorities.
· Data protection in AI systems, focusing on compliance and challenges.
· Regulatory measures to support innovation and ongoing initiatives in Luxembourg.
· Q/A and open discussion.
The presentation will be followed by a networking cocktail.
