Ed Clissold and his team are responsible for the firm’s U.S. equity, style, sector and equity theme analysis. They do so via a combination of a top-down analysis of the macroeconomic and fundamental environments and a bottom-up analysis of factors specific to the asset class, market cap, style, sector, or theme. He and his team also provide in-depth macro research on fundamental topics such as earnings, dividends, and cash flow.
Ed writes several U.S. Strategy publications, which provide an intermediate-term outlook on U.S. markets via a combination of top-down and bottom-up analyses. He also writes a quarterly Benchmarks report, which analyzes the attribution of returns across asset classes, sectors, market cap, and styles.
Ed’s market commentary is often quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, and other financial publications.
Ed is a CFA charterholder, a Magna Cum Laude graduate in Economics from Transylvania University, and has earned his Masters in Business Administration in Finance, with distinction, from Indiana University (Kelley).

Prior to joining State Street Global Advisors in 2016, Matt spent sixteen years at PIMCO in a number of functions including portfolio management, strategy, and business development. He has worked in the U.S., Sydney, Singapore, and Hong Kong. He started his career at Bank of America and has been working in the investment industry since 1999.
Matt has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Arizona State University and a Master of Business Administration from University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.

Vibhanshu Abhishek is an Associate Professor of Information Systems the Paul Merage School of Business, University of California - Irvine. His research focuses on the effect of emerging technologies on consumers' behavior, business strategy and market structure. He is particularly interested in multi-channel coordination and examines issues in multi-channel retail, advertising and pricing. He studies how consumers respond to different forms of advertising and how companies can strategically use new advertising channels to connect with their consumers. He also examines the dynamics of e-commerce marketplaces and their interaction with traditional retail. More recently, he is interested in understanding consumer behavior in the presence of shared urban mobility systems.
Dr. Abhishek has published in top management journals like Operations Research, Marketing Science, Management Science, MIS Quarterly and Journal of Interactive Marketing. He is also a recipient of the Google Faculty research award, Adobe Faculty grant, Flipkart research grand and has won several awards like the ISA-INFORMS best paper award, CIST best student paper award and the ISS Nunamaker-Chen Dissertation award.
He received a PhD in Operations and Information Management and a M.A. in Statistics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He also holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur. Before joining UC Irvine, Dr. Abhishek was an Assistant Professor of Information Systems at the Heinz College, Carnegie Mellon University.
