Shari Freidenrich, CPA, Orange County Treasurer
Shari Freidenrich, CPA, was elected Orange County Treasurer in 2010 & re-elected in 2014, 2018 & 2022. As Treasurer, Shari oversees investments of $13 Billion in public funds. During her tenure, Shari has saved OC taxpayers $1 billion using a commonsense approach. Shari graduated summa cum laude from Washington State University and previously worked at Boeing and Deloitte & Touche.
Currently, Shari also serves as President of the California Association of County Treasurer-Tax Collectors for California’s 58 counties. Shari has been named one of the most influential people in Orange County by OC Business Journal. Shari is a trustee of the $21 billion Orange County Employee Retirement System.
Molly Murphy, CFA, Chief Investment Officer, OCERS
Molly Murphy has more than 30 years of investment experience and currently oversees the investment portfolios as Chief Investment Officer of the Orange County Employees Retirement System with assets under management of $22 billion. Molly joined OCERS in 2017 after many years as CIO of a non-profit health system. Under her direction, OCERS was awarded the 2018 Public Pension Plan of the Year in the Small Plan category.
Molly is a CFA Charter holder. She earned an MBA from Xavier University and a Bachelor of Science from Miami University in Ohio.
In 2023, Ms. Murphy was named to the Forbes 50 Over 50 List, honoring women leaders, creators and difference makers in four broad categories: innovation, impact, investment and lifestyle.
Pauline Hale, MAI, CCIM, MRICS, US Head of QC, JLL Value and Risk Advisory
Pauline serves as the US Head of Quality Control- Value and Risk Advisory at JLL and is a licensed commercial appraiser. At JLL, Pauline is responsible for quality control including internal review, best practices, and training. Pauline has 30 years of commercial real estate industry experience including at Altus Group, PwC, KBS Realty Advisors, & CBRE.
Pauline earned her BA in Business from California State University, Fullerton, and an MBA from Long Beach State. Pauline is a member of the CREW Network Global Board of Directors and an advisory board member for the Center for Real Estate at Cal State Fullerton.
Jennifer Friend, J.D., CEO, Project Hope Alliance
Jennifer serves as CEO of Project Hope Alliance, which works to end the cycle of youth homelessness in Orange County. Under Jennifer’s leadership, PHA has grown 450%, built a nationally recognized model for ending homelessness & achieved a high school graduation rate more than 30% above the national average.
Previously, Jennifer was a partner at a large law firm practicing civil litigation and transaction law. Jennifer holds a J.D. from Whittier Law School, a B.A. in Criminology, Law, & Society from the University of California, Irvine. Jennifer was named Costa Mesa’s Woman of the Year in 2023. Jennifer’s personal experience as a homeless child in Orange County inspired the Broadway play Nomad Motel.
