Are you ready to answer questions on forward interest rates, how to price a bond using a variety of different valuation methodologies, as well as discuss yield curves, credit spreads, and credit default swaps? Please join Peter Stutz, CFA as he helps prepare you for the fixed income section of the Level II CFA Exam. This workshop will take you through some key concepts as well as provide you with 30-40 exam-type questions covering each of the five learning modules. Mr. Stutz will work through solutions to these problems and provide test taking tips specific to the fixed income portion of the exam. Howard is Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of Oaktree Capital Management, a Los Angeles based alternative investment firm focused primarily on credit, with $193 billion of assets under management. Howard's iconic memos are a must read for many great investors, including the Oracle of Omaha, Warren Buffet, who said " When I see memos from Howard Marks in my mail, they're the first thing I open and read. I always learn something." He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in accounting and marketing from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. From 1985 until 1995, Mr. Marks led the groups at The TCW Group, Inc. that were responsible for investments in distressed debt, high yield bonds, and convertible securities. Previously, Mr. Marks was with Citicorp Investment Management for 16 years, where from 1978 to 1985 he was Vice President and senior portfolio manager in charge of convertible and high yield securities. Between 1969 and 1978, he was an equity research analyst and, subsequently, Citicorp's Director of Research. Mr. Marks holds a B.S.Ec. degree cum laude from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a major in finance and an M.B.A. in accounting and marketing from the Booth School of Business of the University of Chicago. He is a CFA® charterholder. Mr. Marks is an Emeritus Trustee and Advisory Member of the Investment Committee at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He is a member of the Investment Committee of the Royal Drawing School in London. He also serves on the Shanghai International Financial Advisory Council and the Advisory Board of Duke Kunshan University and is an Emeritus Trustee of the University of Pennsylvania, where from 2000 to 2010 he chaired the Investment Board. MODERATOR Patrick C. George, CFA Patrick C. George is a vice president in Oaktree’s Opportunities group in Los Angeles. Mr. George began his career as a business analyst with McKinsey & Company where he worked primarily in the private equity and restructuring practices. Come join Ken Yee, CFA, CPA, JD as he analyses CFA Institute’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct within the Level I CFA Curriculum as well as provide some test taking tips for the Level I exam. This discussion will follow CFA Institute’s Learning Outcome Statements for 2025 Level I CFA Curriculum Volume 6 Ethical and Professional Standards Modules 1-3: Explain Ethics. Describe the role of a code of ethics in defining a profession. Describe professions and how they establish trust. Describe the need for high ethical standards in investment management. Explain professionalism in investment management. Identify challenges to ethical behavior compare and contrast ethical standards with legal standards. Describe a framework for ethical decision making. Describe the structure of the CFA Institute Professional Conduct Program and the process for the enforcement of the Code and Standards. Identify the six components of the Code of Ethics and the seven Standards of Professional Conduct. Explain the ethical responsibilities required by the Code and Standards, including the sub-sections of each Standard. SPEAKER Ken Yee, CFA, CPA, JD  is the president of an investment advisory company specializing in commercial real estate capital sourcing and asset-backed securities.
