    WEBINAR: AI in Asset Management

    Feb 27, 02:00 PM - 03:00 PM (PT)

Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming core investment infrastructure—not just a set of experimental tools. Join Joseph Simonian, PhD, editor of AI in Asset Management: Tools, Applications, and Frontiers, for a practitioner-focused webinar exploring how AI is being deployed across the modern investment workflow—from data engineering and signal discovery to portfolio construction, risk management, and governance.

Drawing on cutting-edge research and real-world applications, Joseph will discuss how

machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, natural language processing, and network theory are reshaping decision-making in asset management. The session will also highlight why explainability, model governance, and ethical AI are now essential for institutional adoption—not optional add-ons.

This webinar is designed for investment professionals seeking a clear, practical framework for understanding where AI delivers real value today—and where the next frontier lies.

WEBINAR: AI in Asset Management Book Club

    Mar 3, 06:00 PM - 07:00 PM (PT)

Join CFA Society Seattle’s Book Club for a collaborative AI in Asset Management Book Club, part of our broader spring programming focused on artificial intelligence in investment practice. This interactive session will bring members together to discuss how AI is reshaping the investment process—from research and portfolio construction to risk management, governance, and decision-making.

The discussion will use AI in Asset Management: Tools, Applications, and Frontiers (text found here: AI in Asset Management: Tools, Applications, & Frontiers - Book) as an anchor text, providing a shared framework for exploring real-world applications of machine learning, natural language processing, reinforcement learning, and explainable AI. However, participants are encouraged to engage at whatever level works best for them—whether you attend the related webinar, read selected chapters, read the brief only  (rf_aiinassetmanagement_practitioner-briefs_full-monograph_online.pdf), explore other AI materials, or simply come ready to listen and learn.

This book club follows a webinar with Dr. Joseph Simonian on Friday, February 27, from 2:00–3:00 PM, which will introduce key themes from the book and set the stage for discussion. It also connects to upcoming sessions in our AI series, including a March 18 webinar on creating your own custom ChatGPT and a hands-on, practical AI session on March 26.

Whether you’re new to AI or actively applying it in your investment work, this book club offers a welcoming space to exchange ideas, ask questions, and learn from fellow investment professionals as part of an integrated AI learning experience.
