VIRTUAL: Small Habits with a Big ROI

    Jul 29, 12:00 PM - 01:00 PM (PT)

“If I offered you an investment that could improve your energy, sharpen your focus, reduce your stress and compound in value every single day... would you invest in it?” – Shruti Garg

Success in finance often comes with long hours, mental fatigue, skipped meals and chronic stress. While we spend our days thinking about compounding returns, diversification and risk management, many of us overlook the one asset that powers every decision we make: our body and mind. As finance professionals, we think about long-term returns. But how often do we apply that same mindset to our own health?
Long hours, back-to-back meetings, deadlines and desk work can quietly drain our energy, focus and productivity. The good news? Just like investing, small daily habits can compound into significant long-term returns.

Join Shruti for an engaging session filled with practical tips and tricks to help you stay energized, think more clearly, manage stress and perform at your best. Through relatable finance analogies, personal stories and simple strategies you can implement immediately, you'll learn how to build healthy habits that deliver one of the best ROIs of your career - your health.

BOOK CLUB: Abundance: How We Build a Better Future by bestselling authors Ezra Klein and Derek Thomp

    Sep 1, 06:00 PM - 07:00 PM (PT)

Join CFA Society Seattle’s next Virtual Book Club discussion on September 1, from 6-7pm, as we explore Abundance: How We Build a Better Future by bestselling authors Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson. In this timely and thought-provoking book, the authors examine why many of society’s biggest challenges—from housing affordability and infrastructure development to clean energy and innovation—persist despite decades of technological and economic progress. They argue for a new “politics of abundance” focused on building, problem-solving, and creating the conditions for broad-based prosperity.

For investment professionals, Abundance offers a compelling lens on the intersection of public policy, economic growth, productivity, innovation, and the long-term forces shaping markets and society. Whether you agree with the authors’ conclusions or not, the book provides plenty of material for a lively discussion.
