6th Annual CFA Society Seattle Ethics Challenge

Join us for the 2026 Ethics Challenge, where students put their ethical reasoning and analytical skills to the test in a dynamic competition!

This local event challenges student teams to examine and evaluate ethical dilemmas in a real-world case. Using the CFA Institute's Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct, teams will develop and present their analyses to a panel of judges.

Following the competition, we invite you to celebrate the participants' hard work with networking, along with food and beverages.

Dagney Maseda is the managing director and portfolio manager for SSI Investment Management, LLC. She oversees the daily management of the Hedged Convertible investment portfolios. Dagney has more than 25 years of industry experience as a trading assistant, analyst and portfolio manager. She focuses on credit, high-yield and special-situation research.  

Dagney was named one of the “50 Leading Women in Funds” by the Hedge Fund Journal in 2021. She further contributes to the financial community by serving as vice president of the CFA Society Los Angeles. Dagney graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Finance from California State University, Northridge.

CFA Seattle Society Edge Summit/Annual Meeting/Networking Social

VIRTUAL: MCP for Financial Workflows

This workshop provides a practical introduction to Model Context Protocol (MCP) and how it can be used to extend the capabilities of various LLMs. We will cover a range of MCPs, from financial data tools to other use cases, and highlight startups building analytics agents and developing their own MCPs to connect with LLMs. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how MCP works and how to apply it across different models and workflows.

Cindy Lin is the Founder of Mindful Data, an AI innovations newsletter focused on applications in quantitative research and finance. She is also a faculty member at WorldQuant University, where she teaches quantitative finance. With over 20 years of industry experience, Cindy has held senior quantitative roles, most recently as Senior Director of Data Sciences and Quantitative Portfolio Manager at Bundles. Her work centers on leveraging open-source and AI tools to streamline workflows and broaden access to careers in finance. Cindy also serves as a committee member of 100 Women in Fintech, where she supports and mentors future financial professionals.
