Speaker: Mariam Yousuf Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Mariam Yousuf is a business economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. As a member of the Research Department's regional group, she conducts research on regional economic issues, coordinates the production of and writes the release for the Dallas Fed's Banking Conditions Survey and Agricultural Survey and helps produce the Eleventh District Beige Book—the Dallas Fed's survey of regional economic conditions. She also produces articles for various Dallas Fed publications. Yousuf holds a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics and economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MA in economics from the University of California, Davis.

    Topic Presentation Summary Speaker Feby Abraham, Ph.D. EVP, Chief Strategy and Innovations Officer Memorial Hermann Health System Feby Abraham is the Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy and Innovations Officer at Memorial Hermann Health System. In this role, Feby is responsible for leading strategy and strategic planning for the organization and to drive its strategic investments, corporate development, strategic market insights and innovation efforts. Feby has more than 20 years of experience in the health care sector. Prior to joining Memorial Hermann, he served as a partner at McKinsey & Co., where he worked for nearly 12 years advising private equity funds across sectors, including health care. Before joining McKinsey in early 2008, Feby worked as a research investigator with a focus on data analytics and mathematical modeling at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). Feby holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on applied mathematics from Rice University and has a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. Feby sits on the board of Memorial Hermann’s joint ventures, including its partnership with GoHealth Urgent Care and with Accentcare on home health & hospice. He also serves as an independent director at CapitalRx, a next generation tech-enabled pharmacy benefit management company, as well as Hamilton Health Box, which is a disruptive mobile and on-site clinical model designed for small- and medium-sized employers as well as rural communities. Recently, he has been named for two consecutive years one of Modern Healthcare’s Top Innovators of 2023 and 2024.  This presentation is valid for 1.0 PL credits.     Topic: Join CFA Houston as we discuss all things Port of Houston with the CEO, Charlie Jenkins. Presentation Summary: Hear all about the nation’s number one port from Port Houston CEO Charlie Jenkins. Learn the history that shaped Houston’s port into the economic powerhouse it is today, the current port priorities, and the vision to keep our port competitive for decades to come. Speaker Details: Charlie Jenkins Chief Executive Officer Charlie Jenkins assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer in late August 2024. In this role, he oversees advocacy and stewardship of Houston’s port and the Houston Ship Channel, the nation’s busiest waterway. More than 200 public and private facilities conduct business alongside the Channel and together support $906 billion in annual economic value. Mr. Jenkins also oversees the efficient and effective operations of Port Houston’s public facilities, which handle a diverse range of imports and exports including container, general cargo, breakbulk, and bulk commodities and include the area’s largest breakbulk facilities and two of the most efficient container terminals in the nation. Mr. Jenkins has been with Port Houston for more than 34 years and has served in various capacities during his tenure. He started with the Port as the first intern the organization ever had. Throughout his Port Houston career, he has worked in several departments including container operations, strategic planning, environmental affairs, channel development, financial planning, Bayport Container Terminal, and the grants department. Most recently, he was the Chief Channel Infrastructure Officer, overseeing channel development, the partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to maintain and improve the Houston Ship Channel, as well as the Port Houston Strategic Asset Management Program and GIS.   Mr. Jenkins is actively involved in several industry organizations. He is a Board Member of the Texas Ports Association, the Port Authority Advisory Committee, and the Greater Houston Port Bureau. Additionally, he serves on the Texas A&M University at Galveston’s Board of Visitors, where he is part of the Committee on Student Affairs. He is also a member of the H-GAC Transportation Policy Council.   An honors graduate of Texas A&M University at Galveston, Mr. Jenkins earned a bachelor’s degree in marine sciences and later completed his MBA at the University of Houston. He resides in the Clear Lake area with his wife, and they are proud parents of three and grandparents of two. This presentation will give 1.0 of PL credit. Garage and valet parking available.     Topic Reading the Tea Leaves for 2026: Will Wall Street Swoon as Main Street Booms?  Presentation Summary U.S. economic growth may be heating up as 2025's fiscal and monetary policy stimulus helps spark recovery on Main Street, but Wall Street may not react as positively to recovery as is commonly believed.  In this session, Gina Martin Adams, Chief Market Strategist for HB Wealth, will review the macroeconomic, fundamental and technical signals in HB Wealth's proprietary framework for analyzing financial markets.  The discussion will include a review of lessons learned from past US innovation cycles, as well as the current state of style, sector, capitalization and geographic rotation in global equities.   Speaker   Gina Martin Adams, CFA, CMT Chief Market Strategist HB Wealth Gina Martin Adams, CFA, CMT, is the Chief Market Strategist for HB Wealth, a national independent wealth management firm providing fiduciary, fee-only wealth advisory, investment management, and family office services. Prior to that, she was the head of U.S. Equity Strategy for Wells Fargo Securities, an economist for Wachovia Bank, and an investment strategy analyst for Evergreen Asset Management.  Mrs. Adams has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida. She holds the CFA and CMT designations, is a member of the CFA Institute, and is on the Board of Directors for the CMT Association. She serves on the Business Advisory Council for the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida. She is also a member of the Financial Women’s Association and 100 Women in Finance. The Texas Stock Exchange is now the epicenter for the future growth in the Texas market in capital markets. They are the only fully integrated national securities exchange headquartered in Dallas and will begin operating in 2026. Speaker Details: Jeff Karcher TXSE Jeff brings more than three decades of experience in U.S. equity markets and international equity research. Prior to joining TXSE, Jeff spent nine years leading the listings business at the New York Stock Exchange in the southeast. He joined NYSE after spending almost 30 years working in capital markets in a variety of business development, research management, and product development roles. Jeff has his CETF® certification and had been active in the Atlanta regional business community and now in the Dallas area. Jeff has recently joined the Board of Directors for Visit Dallas, is President of the Atlanta Chapter for the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) and is a Board Member of PurTera IT, a privately held IT infrastructure services provider.     Topic: Navigating Economic Crosscurrents: The Outlook for 2026 and Implications for the Fed and Financial Markets Presentation Summary: Rob Kaplan, Goldman Sachs Vice Chairman and Former Dallas Fed President, will share his outlook for the US economy in 2026 and beyond. Kaplan will discuss the implications of the economic outlook for Fed as the FOMC deliberates on the path of monetary policy. He will also explain what changes may be expected as the composition of the FOMC evolves. His remarks will conclude with a discussion of the outlook for various asset classes and audience Q&A. Speaker Details: Rob Kaplan is Vice Chairman of Goldman Sachs and a member of the Management Committee. Previously, Mr. Kaplan served as President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Before joining the Fed, he was the Martin Marshall Professor of Management Practice and Senior Associate Dean at Harvard Business School (HBS). Mr. Kaplan initially joined Goldman Sachs in 1983 and became a Partner in 1990. In 2002, he became Vice Chairman of the firm with global responsibility for the Investment Banking and Investment Management Divisions. He also served as Co-Chair of the Partnership Committee and Chair of the Goldman Sachs Pine Street Leadership Program. In 1998, Mr. Kaplan became Global Co-Head of Investment Banking and a member of the Management Committee. His previous roles included serving as Head of Asia Pacific Investment Banking, Co-Chief operating officer of global Investment Banking and Head of the Americas Corporate Finance Department. Mr. Kaplan retired from the firm in 2006 to join HBS, becoming a Senior Director at that time.  Mr. Kaplan is Chairman of Project ALS and Co-Chairman of the Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation. He is a board member of Harvard Medical School and St. Mark’s School of Texas, and is a member of the George W. Bush Institute’s Advisory Council. He is also an Advisory Board member of the Baker Institute. He serves on the Bipartisan Policy Center President’s Council and on the Board of Directors at The Holdsworth Center. Mr. Kaplan is the author of three books on leadership, What You Really Need to Lead, What You’re Really Meant To Do, and What to Ask the Person in the Mirror.
