This panel brings together CFA Houston members to walk through the AI tools and workflows they actually use — from modeling and research to commentaries, product communication, and deal work. We’ll discuss what’s working, what isn’t, and how workflows are changing. Attendees will also share ideas from their own experience during a brief table workshop.


Speaker Details:

Brian Tancock, CFA

Brian Tancock is a quantitative investment and financial modeling consultant with experience in portfolio management, asset allocation, and advanced risk analytics across institutional and advisory platforms. He’s worked on the buy side for such firms as Duff & Phelps, BlackRock, and Commerzbank AG and has expertise spanning multi-factor modeling, derivatives and options analytics, volatility forecasting, and systematic strategy design. His work focuses on building data-driven frameworks that integrate macro insights, factor exposures, and disciplined risk controls to enhance investment outcomes.

Brian has developed and implemented quantitative models including factor-based return forecasting systems, mean-variance optimization frameworks, credit risk and default prediction tools, and options-based risk overlays. He combines rigorous statistical analysis with practical portfolio construction experience, ensuring that research translates into actionable investment decisions.

Jessica Seff, CFA

Jessica Seff, Director of Mergers & Acquisitions at Statesman Business Advisors, has 20 years of experience in investment banking, fixed income, structuring, and corporate finance having worked for companies such as Lehman Brothers, Shell Trading, and Yes Prep Public Schools prior to joining Statesman. She is a CFA Charterholder and collaborates extensively with the CFA Society of Houston as their Membership Chair and Treasurer. She is also Immediate Past President of the Association of Corporate Growth (ACG) Houston, and holds her B.B.A. from Vanderbilt University and a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics. Jessica lives in Rice Village with her husband and two young daughters.

Tiffany Chan, CFA

Tiffany Chan is a Product Director at Invesco. In this role, she supports the Large/Multi-cap Growth and Small Growth Investment Teams in Houston and participates in special projects for the Growth Equities Investment Center. Ms. Chan joined Invesco and the financial services industry in 2000, and has served many roles at the firm including product manager, competitive research analyst and product information analyst.

Tiffany earned a BBA in finance from Stephen F. Austin State University, where she was also initiated as a member of Omnicron Delta Epsilon, International Honor Society in Economics, in recognition of high scholastic achievement in the field of Economics. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) charterholder and member of the CFA Society of Houston. Mrs. Chan holds the Series 6, 7, 24, and 63 registrations.

Heather Wied

Heather Wied is a Senior Principal Product Owner on Invesco’s Technology Strategy & Innovation team, driving the program management and delivery of IVYGPT—an internal Generative AI platform powering bespoke, cross-functional business solutions on proprietary infrastructure. She plays a pivotal role in aligning technology initiatives with Invesco’s strategic objectives, ensuring innovative solutions deliver measurable value to investment professionals and other stakeholders.
 
Heather brings a combination of communication, entrepreneurial, and startup experience that allow her to bridge gaps across technology and business. Prior to joining Invesco Heather held roles as Product Owner and Marketing Director for a boutique software development firm in Houston, Texas. She received a BS in Business Administration from University of Louisiana at Lafayette and an MS Marketing degree from Texas A&M University.

This presentation will give 1.0 of PL credit.
