CFA Society Minnesota (CFAMN) is dedicated to providing a safe, enjoyable, and welcoming experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of event participants in any form. You agree to be professional and respectful to all other Participants.
If you experience or observe behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to event staff or the designated event contact.
1.1 Expected Behavior
- Treat all participants with kindness, respect, and consideration.
- Communicate openly, with respect for other participants, critiquing ideas rather than individuals.
- Be mindful of your surroundings and of others.
- Respect the rules and policies of all event or meeting venues and virtual platforms.
- Use welcoming and inclusive language.
1.2 Unacceptable Behavior
- Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to:
- Harassment: Offensive comments, intimidation, stalking, following, or unwelcome sexual attention.
- Discrimination: Discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning speech or actions.
- Disruption: Disrupting, shouting down, or interrupting sessions or events, whether in person or virtually.
- Violence: Verbal or physical bullying, threatening behavior, or the display of offensive objects or images.
- Prohibited Items: Possession of weapons or dangerous substances.
- Retaliation: Adverse action against someone for reporting misconduct or participating in an investigation.
- Excessive intoxication: Visible impairment due to alcohol or other substances that disrupts the event, creates safety concerns, or interferes with others.
1.3 Responsible Drinking
At most CFA Society Minnesota events, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are served. CFAMN expects participants at our events to drink responsibly. CFA Society Minnesota and event staff have the right to deny service to participants for any reason and may require a participant to leave the event.
1.4 Consequences
CFA Society Minnesota reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including immediate removal from the event without warning or refund, in response to any incident of unacceptable behavior, and CFA Society Minnesota reserves the right to prohibit attendance at any future event. Additional consequences may include removal from CFAMN membership and/or informing the CFA Institute of behavior that violates the Code of Ethics or member conduct policies.
