JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Fixed Income Department Head, you will oversees and supervises the management of all the Fixed Income Portfolios of segregated accounts which consist of Retirement Funds, Pre-need Trust and Corporate & Personal IMAs and Unit Investment Trust Funds (“UITFs”) to achieve targeted Benchmark Returns and top 50% ranking among its peers in the asset management and trust industries while operating within prescribed clients’ and UITFs’ investment guidelines, risk management and compliance policies. Supervises, develops and maintains a solid team of Fixed Income Fund Managers as well as a cooperative relationship with other Business units in TAMG, Wholesale and Retail Banking Segments, as well as other stakeholders in the Bank in order to contribute to the Better Banking thrust of the Bank and to increase TAMG's ability to grow its Assets under Management (“AUM”) and profitability of the business. As Fixed Income Desk Head, the Role requires having very good analytical, financial, and communication skills, building and keeping strong relationships with counterparties (brokers, analysts, companies’ CFOs and Investor Relations Officers), contributing ideas, drafting Policies and enhancing processes, coordinating, and working well within a team, as well as making reasonable and calculated risks, sound judgement and investment decisions.
- Co-develops investment strategies and direction by active discussion/participation in both formal and informal meetings to arrive at the best reading of the markets and effectively build/re-balance portfolios.
- Participates in the preparation of market updates and commentaries, customer presentations and account reviews by active contribution, preparation, and physical engagement, to assist Sales in their marketing and Accounts management in their relationship development.
- Determines and analyzes risk items and market movements by constant monitoring of news, trends, and developments as well as by evaluating research material to allow for more effective position management.
- Applies an understanding of the regulatory, quality control, and risk management framework by strict adherence and compliance to ensure good governance is inherent in the culture.
- Supervises his direct reports' managed funds and portfolios by a balance of guidance and empowerment to ensure consistency of strategy, trading, and proper execution. Builds a solid team by ensuring skills are developed fully, and teamwork is existing to achieve execution excellence continuity and lay down the groundwork for succession planning.
- Overseas the daily and medium-term trading activity of all the Fixed Income Portfolios/Funds according to the prescribed and agreed strategy and models to achieve at least benchmark returns.
REQUIREMENTS:

At least 5-10 years of work experience in related industry.

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Business Studies/Administration/Management, Commerce, Economics, Finance/Accountancy/Banking.

Expert knowledge of the Fixed Income market; Effective Analytical, and Financial skills; Able to make sound judgement and investment decisions; Use and navigation of platforms such as Bloomberg and Eikon messenger; Polices’ crafting; Communicates effectively, both written and oral; Presentation skills as role requires discussion with senior management of the Bank and of the clients that include Presidents, CFOs and Investor Relations Officers; Strong leadership and coaching/ mentoring values; and Works well with a team.
