Emerging Leaders Group
Connect with the next generation of leaders in Pittsburgh’s investment community.
The Emerging Leaders Group creates opportunities for CFA Society Pittsburgh members under age 40 to connect, learn, and grow together through mentorship, professional development, skill-building, and networking.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to help shape the group’s direction and plan events and initiatives that support emerging professionals throughout the Society.

Collegiate Financial Plan Graders
Help local college students build stronger financial futures.
Each year, CFA Society Pittsburgh sponsors a financial planning competition in which local university students develop plans for managing their finances after graduation. Students compete for prizes based on the quality and thoughtfulness of their submissions.
Volunteer graders are needed for approximately two weeks each spring to review and rank semifinalist and finalist submissions and help determine the winning plans.
This is an excellent short-term volunteer opportunity for members who want to support financial literacy and engage with local university students.

Financial Literacy Instructors
Help CFA Society Pittsburgh expand financial literacy education throughout our community. The Financial Literacy Committee supports initiatives that make practical financial knowledge more accessible to students and young people, including programs delivered in partnership with Junior Achievement.
Committee members can contribute in a variety of ways—from helping plan and coordinate programs to supporting outreach, identifying new opportunities, and participating in financial literacy events. It’s a great way to use your experience to make a meaningful impact and help the next generation build greater financial confidence.

Investment Research Challenge
Help prepare the next generation of investment professionals.
Each year, CFA Society Pittsburgh hosts the CFA Institute Research Challenge for local university students. The competition gives students hands-on experience in financial analysis, valuation, report writing, presentation skills, and professional ethics while assuming the role of a research analyst.
Volunteers are needed to help execute the local competition, and experienced professionals may also serve as judges to determine which team advances to the regional finals.
It’s a rewarding opportunity to mentor students, share your professional expertise, and support one of the Society’s signature educational programs.

Programming Committee
Help shape the educational programming CFA Society Pittsburgh delivers to its members.
The Programming Committee helps develop, market, and execute events that provide Society members with approximately 20 hours of Professional Learning content each year.
Committee members can contribute ideas for speakers and topics, help develop events, and support the delivery of timely and relevant educational programming for Pittsburgh’s investment community.

Endowments & Foundations Conference Committee
Help shape one of CFA Society Pittsburgh’s signature educational events. The Endowments & Foundations Conference Committee supports the planning of our annual conference, which brings together leaders from endowments and foundations, investment consultants, money managers, and subject-matter experts for a full day focused on critical investment and governance issues.
Committee members serve as session leads, helping develop individual conference sessions by identifying relevant topics and speakers and coordinating with speakers leading up to the event.
This is a great opportunity to help shape meaningful industry conversations, expand your professional network, and contribute to a high-impact CFA Society Pittsburgh program.
