Betsey Stevenson served as chief economist of the U.S. Department of Labor from 2010 to 2011, on the President's Council of Economic Advisors 2013-2015, and was on the Biden-Harris transition team. She is a research associate with the National Bureau of Economic Research, a research fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research, an elected member of the National Academy of Social Insurance, and is a member of the Board of Directors of Lyft, Inc. She earned her Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University and currently teaches at the University of Michigan.
