UCSD Economics Roundtable on November 10th

When:  Nov 10, 2025 from 07:30 AM to 09:00 AM (PT)
Associated with  CFA Society San Diego

Life expectancy is increasing, fertility is falling, and the population is rapidly aging throughout the world. Long-term care for the elderly is a major economic challenge that will continue to grow in the coming decades. How is our money currently being spent in the U.S., and what can we learn from the experience of other countries? Kathleen McGarry is Professor of Economics at UCLA and a Faculty Research Fellow with the National Bureau of Economic Research. She is leading the NBER International Long-term Care program and will share what has been learned from that research on November 10.
