CFA Society Vancouver, formerly The Vancouver Society of Financial Analysts (VSFA), was founded in 1965, is a local Society within CFA Institute, the leading professional organization for financial analysts and portfolio managers.
CFA Society Vancouver's membership consists of over 2,000 regular and affiliate members representing a wide range of companies. The vast majority of our members are in the financial and investment industries holding various positions such as investment counsellors, pension fund managers, portfolio managers, financial analysts, investment bankers, corporate bankers, and treasury managers.
The Society is a member of CFA Institute, and was admitted to membership in the Financial Analysts Federation in 1967. Our society hosted the AIMR annual conference in 1995 and Forest Industry conference in 1998.
CFA Society Vancouver hosted the CFA Institute Annual Conference in May 2008 and the CFA Institute Regional Society Leadership Conference in 2018. The Society received CFA Institute Society Excellence Awards in 2012 for Societies with 600+ members and in 2017 for Societies over 1000 members. These are incredible achievements and recognition of the hard work done by the Board of Directors, volunteers, and staff. In 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2018, CFA Society Vancouver joined the other Canadian CFA Societies in being recognized for collaboration by CFA Institute.
