CFA Society Vancouver holds a call for volunteers in June or July each year based on the needs of our committees. We often receive more letters of interest than positions available, so we cannot guarantee a placement. The majority of positions are open to CFA charterholders, but there are a few suitable to CFA candidates. We do not have any opportunities for university students at the moment.
The goal of the Awareness Committee is to enhance the awareness of the CFA brand within the Vancouver investment community, including CFA Society Vancouver members, employers, academia, members of other professional organizations, and the general investing public.
The Candidates Committee organizes programs and activities, which help CFA candidates address topics in the CFA Program, career development, career management, and career transition during and after the completion of the Program.
The Financial Literacy Committee works with local non-profit organizations to lead presentations on key financial literacy topics, including retirement planning, budgeting, and raising children to be financially literate.
The purpose of the Programs Committee is to provide educational programs that fit the mandate and strategy of CFA Society Vancouver, as well as the requirements of CFA Institute. The objective is to ensure quality programming is available for the CFA Society Vancouver membership, clients, investors, and other professionals.
The Social Committee organizes a variety of social events throughout the year for CFA Society Vancouver members, candidates, and other industry professionals.
The University Outreach Committee's goals are to increase awareness of the CFA designation and CFA Program amongst students and to enhance the Society's relationships with local university and colleges. The Committee also hosts the local CFA Institute Research Challenge and CFA Societies Ethics Challenge for provincial universities.
