Description of Services
The BCSC’s mission is to protect and promote the public interest by fostering a securities market that is fair and warrants public confidence, and a dynamic and competitive securities industry that provides investment opportunities and access to capital. We achieve this by:
-
reviewing the disclosure that businesses raising capital must provide to investors;
-
reviewing applications for registration from those that trade securities, providing advice, or manage portfolios or investment funds to ensure they are qualified, ethical, and solvent;
-
taking action against those who contravene securities laws; and,
-
educating investors to protect themselves and industry participants to understand how to comply with securities law requirements.
