    Shifting Tides: Economic Update and Asset Class Perspectives

The session opens with an economic update from  Jim Gilliland, CFA , President & CEO and Head of Fixed Income at Leith Wheeler Investment Counsel Ltd., offering his expert perspective on market trends, interest rates, and global economic drivers. Following the keynote, a dynamic panel discussion will bring together leading voices from the institutional investment community: Panelists: Chhad Aul, CFA , VP, Portfolio Management & Portfolio Manager, Sun Life Global Investments Jim Cole, CFA, FCIA , Managing Director & Institutional Portfolio Manager, PH&N Institutional, RBC Global Asset Management Inc. Brendon Ogmundson, CFA , Chief Economist, BC Real Estate Association Moderator: Andrea Schmelcher, CFA , Senior Consultant, DC Consulting, TELUS Health Together, they will examine key themes shaping institutional portfolios, with a particular focus on how Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit investors are managing their allocations to alternative investments in response to the return challenges associated with traditional fixed income and equity market concentration risk. The session will conclude with a networking reception.
