The 2025 Mercer CFA Institute Global Pension Index reviews 52 retirement income systems around the world, following the inclusion of Kuwait, Namibia, Oman and Panama in 2025. The Index examines how these systems can best support retirees amid a world where fertility rates are falling and life expectancy is rising. These demographic trends present challenges for all pension arrangements, whether pay-as-you-go public pensions or funded private pensions.
