Candidate Advisory Panel

CFA Society New Zealand is establishing a Candidate Advisory Panel to provide structured input from candidates and help inform the Society’s candidate engagement initiatives.

CFA candidates are a critical stakeholder group and represent the future membership of the Society. The panel provides a forum for candidates to share their perspectives on the CFA candidate experience and contribute ideas to enhance engagement, support, and communication with the candidate community.

Participation on the panel is a volunteer opportunity for candidates who would like to contribute to the Society’s work while gaining exposure to the CFA community.

Role of the Panel

The Candidate Advisory Panel will provide input to the Society on topics including:

  • The candidate experience across Levels I, II, and III of the CFA Program
  • Insights from candidate surveys and other feedback mechanisms
  • Opportunities to improve candidate engagement initiatives and communications
  • Emerging needs or challenges faced by candidates

The panel serves in an advisory capacity and helps the Society better understand candidate perspectives when developing future initiatives.

Panel Composition

The panel will consist of three to six CFA candidates, representing a mix of:

  • Level I, Level II, and Level III candidates
  • Geographic locations across New Zealand, where possible

Time Commitment

Panel members will meet twice per year in a virtual format, with each meeting expected to last approximately 60–90 minutes.

Scheduled meeting dates:

  • Meeting Date 1 – Tuesday, 16 June 2026 at 4:30pm
  • Meeting Date 2 – Wednesday, 2 December 2026 at 4:30pm

Applicants will be asked to pre-commit to attending these meeting dates as part of the application process.

Benefits of Participation

  • Provide direct input into CFA Society New Zealand’s candidate engagement initiatives
  • Contribute to improving the candidate experience for the wider community
  • Gain exposure to the Society’s work and engagement initiatives
