Mentor Roundtables

Connect, Learn, and Grow Through Mentor Roundtables

CFA Society New Zealand is launching Mentor Roundtables, a new initiative designed to connect CFA candidates with experienced professionals from the investment industry.

The roundtables provide a supportive environment where candidates can discuss study strategies, career development, and industry insights while building connections with experienced mentors and peers facing similar challenges.

What Are Mentor Roundtables?

Mentor Roundtables are small-group virtual discussions that bring together:

  • One CFA charterholder mentor
  • Five to six CFA candidates

Participants will meet 2–3 times a year to discuss topics relevant to the CFA journey and careers in the investment profession.

Candidates will be grouped by CFA Program level and location where possible to foster shared experiences and discussion.

What You Can Expect

Each session will focus on discussion topics designed to encourage learning and interaction. Topics may include:

  • Study strategies and exam preparation
  • Managing work, study, and personal commitments
  • Career paths in the investment profession
  • Professional development and networking
  • Insights from experienced CFA charterholders

The format is intended to be informal and discussion-based, allowing candidates to ask questions and learn from both mentors and fellow candidates.

Benefits of Participating

By joining a Mentor Roundtable, candidates will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn from experienced professionals in the CFA community
  • Gain insights into the investment profession and potential career paths
  • Share experiences and study strategies with fellow candidates
  • Receive guidance and encouragement throughout the CFA journey

Eligibility

To be eligible to participate, candidates must be:

  • Currently registered for an upcoming CFA exam, or
  • Waiting on Level I or Level II exam results

As places are limited, submitting an expression of interest does not guarantee placement in a roundtable group.
